Help - Reviews and references

Reviews are ratings shared by families and babysitters after their childcare adventures together ⭐! They're like little snapshots of how well your babysitting experience went. References come from people who know our members outside of Babysits (i.e. former employers, colleagues, friends, acquaintance, or family) and describe what they are like to work with. Both give you more information when deciding who to contact.

References act like trust badges on your profile! When families see recommendations from people who know you personally (i.e. former employers, colleagues, friends, acquaintance, or family), they feel much more confident choosing you for their childcare needs. Adding references increases your chances of connecting with families. Head to the reference page to add yours! 💙

After connecting with another Babysits member, you can share your experience to help others! Simply find the review button in your inbox on top of the conversation (it appears after our system detected a meetup occurred). When you leave a review first, we'll let the other person know – but don't worry, they won't see what you wrote until they leave their own review or after 14 days have passed. Your honest feedback helps other families and sitters decide who to contact! 💫

Want to see what others are saying about you? It's easy! To view another member's review right away, simply leave one for them too. If you prefer not to write a review, don't worry - you'll automatically see all reviews on your profile after 14 days. ⭐

We value transparency in our community, so reviews can't be deleted or hidden from your profile. But don't worry! You can always respond to a review by clicking the comment button on your profile page. If you believe a review is unfair or inappropriate, our friendly support team is here to help - just reach out to us and we'll evaluate the situation with care. 💙

We want reviews to be honest and impartial. You can edit your review during the 14-day waiting period, but only if you submitted first and the other person hasn't responded yet. Once both reviews are in (or the 14-day period ends), they're published permanently. ⭐

For bookings made through Babysits, we help build trust in our community with automatic reviews! After a successful booking, if a family hasn't left feedback within 4 days, we'll automatically give the sitter a positive 5-star review. If a babysitter didn't show up, they'll receive an automatic 1-star review instead. Families can always edit these automatic reviews if they wish to add personal details or make changes to reflect their experience! ⏱️⭐
